Strategic Infrastructure Loan Fund - The Maryland Economic Development Corporation Quarterly Newsletter Signup Strategic Infrastructure Loan Fund The Strategic Infrastructure Loan Fund will make targeted investments into real estate and infrastructure projects that support transformative placemaking, transit-oriented development, community development and/or inclusive and equitable economic growth objectives.
As the fund sponsor, MEDCO will serve as the link between public and private sector interests, raise capital and build a pipeline of project investments. Featuring flexible terms, this critical financing tool will complement existing state programs intended to support infill, redevelopment and revitalization projects.
Eligible projects must be located within a Maryland Sustainable Community, Priority Funding Area or Transit Oriented Development. Priority projects include development projects that activate underutilized government or institutionally owned property, offer significant development or redevelopment value, leverage private investment and/or projects with the promise of significant job creation/retention potential.
Financing is intended to fill gaps in residential, commercial, mixed-use and light industrial projects that are positioned to drive impact. Uses may include the acquisition of property or vacant sites, design and development, infrastructure and other costs associated with new construction, adaptive reuse or extensive rehabilitation.
