This NOFO aims to enhance the use of Human Resources for Health (HRH) data for evidence-based decision making on health workforce management and strategic planning within the South African National and Provincial Departments of Health (NDOH/DOH).

This will be achieved through an assessment, conducted by a third party, of the current HRIS sub-systems and implementing the following components: (1) Health workforce registry, (2) health professional councils’ systems, and (3) HRH data warehouse. The recipient will support activities that improve HRH data quality and promote data use.
As information needs are constantly changing, the recipient will conduct an information needs assessment and understand HRH workflows in order to support the NDOH develop a robust, responsive, and reliable HRIS to improve operational and strategic decisions on health workforce resulting in improved health care service delivery and health outcomes in South Africa (SA).
