CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $1,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.This NOFO is a single eligibility award for the Malawi National AIDS Commission (NAC). NAC coordinates the Malawi multi-sectoral HIV and AIDS national response. NAC works with the Ministry of Health (MOH), other government ministries, civil society, and other stakeholders to develop policies and promote compliance with guidelines for HIV prevention, care and treatment. HIV primary prevention activities remain an essential component of efforts to reach epidemic control in Malawi, specifically, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC), prevention of gender-based violence (GBV), prevention of HIV among adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), prevention services for key populations (KP) as well as other services targeting risk factors for HIV and linkages/retention to care for those living with HIV, to achieve epidemic control of HIV in Malawi. This NOFO supports the coordination of prevention activities in these program areas through leadership to achieve and sustain epidemic control: coordination at national and district level for HIV prevention; strengthened national monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems for HIV and AIDS activities; coordinated review of national HIV strategic frameworks; use of mapping and tracking of stakeholders and implementers for HIV prevention activities aligned to national priorities; and provision of experts to support HIV prevention, care and treatment activities in close collaboration with the MOH.
