Stronger Communities – Google. org Enabling a safer digital world while strengthening communities in the face of crises We support organizations that are creating a safer internet and fostering digital wellbeing amongst youth, and those providing essential resources to communities in times of crisis.

Equipping communities with the skills and tools they need to stay safe online Helping youth and seniors stay safe online Singapore-based social enterprise, Bamboo Builders , whose SG ScamWISE initiative combines research, community training, and youth-led outreach to help 100,000 youth and seniors in Singapore stay safe online.

Helping communities combat scams We support organizations, nonprofits, and industry leaders to help protect vulnerable communities from online threats. By leading workshops, awareness campaigns, and scaled learning resources we are able to support those most at risk to better identify scams and protect themselves from cyber threats.

Promoting online safety for young people We are committed to helping young people become confident and responsible digital citizens. With the skills needed to safely navigate the internet, our next generation can mitigate online harms and make educated decisions about their digital footprint.

Growing media literacy and online safety program offerings for young people Since 2018, we have supported more than 60 organizations in developing media literacy and online safety programs for youth through Google’s open-sourced Be Internet Awesome curriculum. The program has been scaled to European organizations focused on protecting and supporting kids online.

Helping organizations across Asia deepen their cybersecurity capacity With a $15M grant, we supported The Asia Foundation in launching the APAC Cybersecurity Fund in partnership with CyberPeace Institute and Global Cyber Alliance — bolstering the cyber capabilities of 300,000 small businesses, nonprofits, and social enterprises.

Strengthening our global cybersecurity capabilities Technologies like AI are presenting both opportunities and threats to cybersecurity — making access to cyber education and training increasingly essential. We are helping nonprofits and small businesses protect and educate themselves by making cyber-risk training accessible.

Helping improve youth digital wellbeing We support organizations that help kids build healthy, productive relationships with technology by promoting engaging content, campaigns, and training that focus on fostering strong technology habits and positive mental wellbeing. Supporting mental health and wellbeing for high schoolers Selena Gomez, founder of The Rare Impact Fund, sits with High Schoolers after announcing $10M from Google.

Enabling rapid action alongside organizations, and helping communities prepare, respond, and recover from hardship Play silent looping video Pause silent looping video Supporting new strategies for disaster relief GiveDirectly is revolutionizing disaster relief efforts in vulnerable regions by using AI to identify low-income households during a crisis and sending cash directly to those affected. Google.

org has provided $22M in grants as well as a team of machine learning experts to accelerate their mission. Providing immediate relief We coordinate responses to natural disasters and humanitarian and complex crises globally by working with organizations to ensure fast, holistic, and more effective responses that harness the best of Google.

Supporting long-term resilience We recognize that recovery often means intentional and long-term support for communities rebuilding and repairing from crisis. We work with nonprofits on the frontlines of both global disaster response and local community aid by providing funding and technical expertise.

Providing access to learning resources and technology after wildfires As part of a broader commitment to wildfire relief for the greater Los Angeles community, Google and YouTube provided more than $3M in funding to the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation and DonorsChoose to improve access to technology and support continuity of learning for students, teachers, schools, and districts affected by the wildfires.

Empowering governments to enhance public services and connect more effectively with communities. Google. org supports Apolitical in training over one million public servants worldwide to apply AI to pressing challenges.

Apolitical’s "Government AI Campus" is an initiative to build AI-ready governments by providing a trusted global hub for AI excellence in governments, with a focus on networks and connectivity and communities of practice. Boosting public servants’ AI expertise We provide public servants and policymakers with the training they need to better understand how AI can support citizens and their communities.

Creating AI-powered applications and tools We help nonprofits and civil society harness the power of AI to build technical solutions that address priority challenges for governments and communities at scale. CiviForm simplifies the way residents find and apply for public assistance programs. It is an open source software solution for governments first developed by the City of Seattle with pro bono support from the Google.
