Student Travel and Participation Grants (DPP)

Student Travel and Participation Grants (DPP) is sponsored by American Physical Society (APS) Division of Plasma Physics (DPP). The American Physical Society Division of Plasma Physics (APS DPP) offers a limited number of student participation grants to enable DPP student participation during the 68th Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Plasma Physics.

Violations of these standards may disqualify people from future participation. The American Physical Society (APS) and the American Physical Society Division of Plasma Physics (APS-DPP) offer several grants. Nominees and award and officeholders are expected to meet standards of professional conduct and integrity as described in the APS Ethics Guidelines .

Violations of these standards may disqualify people from consideration or lead to revocation of honors or removal from office. The Student Travel and Participation Grant offer applies to students who submit an abstract presenting their research at the Annual DPP annual meeting. Applications are reviewed by the DPP Program Subcommittee.

A student who is first author and presenter are more likely to receive a grant than a student coauthor. The advisor’s statement of need should clearly justify the student's qualifications for a grant. DPP Policy : An advisor must apply for only one student, and an application is appropriate only if the student would not participate or have difficulty participating without a grant.

Grant recipients must be currently enrolled in a PhD program, or an undergraduate program at a U.S. or international institution and conducting cutting-edge research in plasma physics.

The statement of need should: include a brief description of the student’s research confirm if the student is a first author/presenter or if they are a coauthor detail how participation at the DPP Annual meeting will benefit the student, especially as it pertains to the timeliness of presenting at the meeting for their current career stage clearly justify the student’s qualifications for a grant.
