At its core, the Muhammad Subuh Foundation exists to strengthen the long-term sustainability of Subud groups and centers, so that the Latihan and community life can continue to flourish for future generations.

Groups typically consider applying for an MSF grant when they have a project that: Preserves or improves a Subud property (e.g. repairs, renovations, safety upgrades, accessibility improvements) Supports essential infrastructure needed for group life and the Latihan Helps stabilize a group financially around a concrete, well-defined need Represents a meaningful investment in the continuity of Subud, rather than day-to-day operating expenses Groups at different stages of preparation are welcome.

Early questions or conversations are encouraged, even if plans are still developing, to help clarify whether an MSF grant may be appropriate. How to apply for an MSF grant? To better accommodate the different timelines and needs of Subud groups, the Muhammad Subuh Foundation (MSF) offers two grant application cycles each year starting in 2026.

The application process is the same for both cycles. This page guides you step by step through the MSF grant application process for Subud Houses. Please review each stage carefully before starting your application.

1. Check eligibility and connect with MSF Review the Grant Process Guidelines and MSF Grant Policy to confirm your project is eligible before applying. MSF offers workshops and 1:1 meetings to explain the process and answer questions.

Register using the Workshops & Personalized Meetings form to receive the Zoom details and submit any questions in advance. 2. Choose the cycle that fits your project timeline MSF offers two grant cycles each year.

The application process is the same for both cycles; the main difference is timing. Use the timeline below to select the cycle that best aligns with when your project needs approval and funding. Grant Application Timeline (2026) Application Period – Stage 1 Application Period – Stage 2 Decision & Agreement / Fund Transfer Cycle 1 is best for projects that require a decision and fund transfer earlier in the year.

Cycle 2 is better suited for projects with later start dates. 3. Stage 1 – Initial eligibility application Stage 1 is mandatory for all applicants and serves as an initial eligibility check.

This step allows MSF to confirm that your project aligns with MSF priorities and meets basic eligibility requirements. It is not the full application. If your Stage 1 submission is approved, you will be invited to proceed to Stage 2 (full application).

Complete the Stage 1 – Eligibility Application Form 4. Stage 2 – Full application Stage 2 is available only if your Stage 1 application is approved. In this stage, applicants submit the full project proposal, including detailed planning, budget, and required supporting documents.

MSF may request clarifications, additional information, or meetings as part of the review process. Eligible applicants will receive the Stage 2 application form directly from MSF. MSF carefully reviews each Stage 2 application to assess alignment with MSF priorities, project feasibility, and potential impact.

As part of the assessment, MSF may seek feedback from international helpers, Zone Representatives, and National Committees. During the process, MSF may also request clarifications, additional information, or meetings with applicants. 6.

Decision & Agreement / Fund Transfer All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application. If approved, applicants will receive a grant agreement outlining the terms and conditions. Funds are transferred once the agreement is signed and the project is ready to proceed, following MSF’s “just in time” funding approach.
