Since 2014, Nova Ukraine has run a variety of successful humanitarian projects in Ukraine. Since 2022 to date, we have raised over $180 million and have helped over 12 million Ukrainians with an operating expense percentage in single digits.

org. Recovery cannot wait. On July 4, while the US marked 250 years of independence, Nova Ukraine gathered with partners in Cherkasy oblast to talk about the work ahead.

55 partner organizations and 76 participants joined us from nearly every region of Ukraine. These are the teams implementing Nova Ukraine projects across HEAL, BUILD, EMPOWER, and ADVOCATE. The day we chose was not a coincidence.

As the United States marked 250 years of independence, Ambassador Erin E. McKee, CEO of Nova Ukraine, chose to spend the Fourth of July in Ukraine with people who understand that freedom, recovery, and the right to choose the future are not abstract ideas. They are defended every day.

“There is no place on earth I would rather be today. Watching what the Ukrainian people have done so far and continue to do every day gives me a more profound understanding of what my own country’s founding actually means than anything I learned in school. Ukraine does not just need to survive this war.

Ukraine needs to win the peace that follows. ” Recovery is not something that starts after the war. It is already happening NOW through the people and organizations working across Ukraine every day.

Another night of terror in Kyiv and another Day of Mourning. Overnight, a massive Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv and Kyiv Region killed at least 21 people and injured more than 60, including children. Ukrainian officials reported 68 missiles and 351 drones launched, with at least 15 residential buildings damaged or destroyed.

This attack came just days after another nearly 12-hour assault on Kyiv killed 31 people and wounded more than 100. As NATO leaders are gathering this week, they should prioritize helping Ukraine defend its skies. The bloodshed is intolerable.

Ukraine’s future depends on its people. Veterans are an integral part of it. As more Ukrainians return from war to their families, communities, and civilian life, recovery must include the systems that help them heal, reconnect, and strengthen local communities.

For years, Nova Ukraine’s Power of Two program has supported veterans and their families through recovery and reconnection. Now, we are taking the next step by supporting the people who stand beside veterans every day. We’re proud to launch Vector of Resilience, a new joint project focused on the professional development, psychological recovery, and resilience of veteran support specialists.

The program begins in Volyn Oblast, where 60 specialists from communities across the region will participate in evidence-based training led by experienced psychologists and trauma therapists at Lisova Pisnya Sanatorium near the Shatsk Lakes.

Together with Marlog Caducei, the Volyn Regional Administration, and with support from Ukraine’s Ministry of Veterans Affairs, we are investing in stronger support systems for veterans, their families, and Ukraine’s future. In an emergency, the first few minutes can decide everything.

Nova Ukraine provided the Zakarpattia Emergency Medical Center with simulation and training equipment to help medical staff practice lifesaving emergency skills. The equipment helps medics practice how to stop severe bleeding, manage airways, evacuate injured people, and provide care for patients with serious injuries. The more medics can practice before a crisis, the faster and more confidently they can act when every second matters.
