Alabama State Council on the Arts Grant Application Process to Organizations and Schools Artistic Literacy Consortium Center for Traditional Culture Cultural Arts Events Calendar Support the Arts License Plate Fund Plate design by Bethanne Hill, 2021. The Alabama Support the Arts License Plate grant program aims to promote the arts in Alabama, especially arts education. A six-person volunteer committee governs the program.
Advisory committee members serve on a voluntary basis and one member is appointed by each of the following organizations or individuals: the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the Alabama Arts Alliance, and the State Department of Education.
Proceeds from the sale of the license plate will be used to fund a variety of arts in education and community arts projects. Buy the Support the Arts plate the next time you renew your registration at your county's vehicle licensing office. More information at revenue.
alabama. gov . Apply for a Support the Arts License Plate Grant A grant may be submitted from nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)3 designation, schools, or school systems.
Grants will not be considered for individuals. One grant request per organization up to $5,000 will be considered per deadline. If an organization is awarded a grant, they must sit out the next two (2) tag grant deadlines before they are eligible to submit another application.
They may apply again on the 3rd deadline after the deadline in which they were awarded a grant. Final reports for a previously funded project are required for an organization to be considered eligible when applying for a new project grant. Projects with an arts education focus will receive priority funding.
The application must be completed in its entirety. Additional pages will not be accepted. Upcoming Dates and Deadlines Application Deadlines: December 15, 2026 and June 15, 2027 Grant Committee Meetings: January 2027 and July 2027 Applications are accepted on a rolling basis but must be received no later than 5:00 pm CT on the deadline date to guarantee review.
