Surface Creek Community Fund (SCCF) – Western Colorado Community Foundation Surface Creek Community Fund (SCCF) Surface Creek Community Fund (SCCF) wccfstg 2025-11-17T11:26:48-07:00 About Surface Creek Community Fund (SCCF) The Surface Creek Community Fund (SCCF) is a charitable investment account to benefit the people of Austin, Cedaredge, Cory, Eckert, and Orchard City.
Donations are used to support local nonprofit organizations and community improvement projects through a competitive grants application process. Surface Creek community leaders partnered with the Western Colorado Community Foundation in 2019 to establish a permanent charitable endowment that distributes annual grants into the community for generations to come.
Community-minded donors who share a connection to the place they live and a commitment to making their community better can make contributions of any size. A local steering committee made up of community leaders reviews applications and awards grants once a year. Since its establishment in 2019, the Surface Creek Community Fund has distributed $ 99,565.
00 in grants to nonprofits in the towns of Austin, Cedaredge, Cory, Eckert, and Orchard City in Delta County. in 2025 the Surface Creek Community Fund (SCCF) awarded $23,290 in grants to 12 local nonprofits, supporting projects and programs that enrich life in Cedaredge and nearby communities.
Now in its sixth year, the Surface Creek Community Fund is building a permanent source of support for local nonprofits that serve the communities of Austin, Cedaredge, Cory, Eckert, and Orchard City.
2025 grant recipients include: Cedaredge Community Gardens Association Colorado West Land Trust – Montrose Delta County Public Library District Delta County School District – Delta Family Center Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center Grand Mesa Nordic Council Little Sprouts Community Preschool Surface Creek Animal Shelter Surface Creek Valley Historical Society, Inc. The Surface Creek Community Fund is a catalyst to help all the nonprofit organizations in the Surface Creek area attain their goals.
