Administered by the Environmental Protection & Sustainability Division ( EPS ), the mission is to fund environmental initiatives that strive to build a sustainable community. Projects that are led by, or focus on, traditional Hawaiian practices and approaches are encouraged.

An information session regarding FY 27 grants and applications will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:00AM (HST) at the Environmental Protection and Sustainability Division Office, located at 2145 Wells Street, Suite 305. Interested parties that cannot attend the meeting in person may attend remotely by accessing the meeting through the link provided below.
Remote Access FY27 Grant Information Session Meeting Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:00AM (HST) The following Grant Funds are part of the EP&S Grants Program: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION & GREEN GRANTS Total available FY26 grant funds: $1,400,000 The Environmental Protection Grants and Green Grants both support sustainability initiatives including invasive species management, natural resource protection, conservation, restoration, and climate change resilience.
Total available FY26 grant funds: $1,200,000 The Wetlands Restoration Grants support the efforts of organizations dedicated to wetland restoration within the county. Highway Beautification Grant Total available grant funds: $300,000 Highway Beautification Grants provide funding for the clean-up of debris, trash, and abandoned vehicles on the roadsides of all districts in Maui, Molokai and Lanai.
Recycling Grant Information Total available grant funds: $1,000,000 The Recycling Grants Program focuses on diverting and reducing waste. Potential grant projects include equipment, program expansions, related education, and materials collection and/or processing. The total available funding for FY 2027 is subject to official approval and will be posted at a later date.
