Individuals from underprivileged backgrounds who have received support through our programmes to date. Witness the power of youth at the 2024 National Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships! Hosted by Merrifield Prep, the competition brought together some of SA’s top young speakers.

Proudly sponsored by Sygnia. ##### Social investment focus Sygnia’s CSR is overseen by the Transformation, Social and Ethics Committee, a formal subcommittee of the Board of Directors. Recent highlights include our Mandela Day stationery and toiletry drive, a matric ball dress drive for underprivileged students, and the heartwarming Santa Shoebox campaign.

Every moment reflects our commitment to creating lasting change — one project, one person, one purpose at a time. Sygnia and Trilogy teamed up to bring a little joy to the kids at The Homestead’s Yizani Drop-In Centre for Mandela Month. ⁠ We hosted a big-screen showing of Despicable Me 4, complete with hot chocolate and donuts ☕ 🍩 🎬 Thanks to the generous donations from Sygnia staff, every child also went home with a winter warmy.

🧣🧤⁠ We popped by the SA Children’s Home to meet Shani, Jane and the incredible kitchen team who keep things cooking. That is about 120 meals every day for the kids in their care 🍽️⁠ We also got to see their shiny new stove, which Sygnia proudly donated towards. 🔥 Our amazing staff collected toiletries too, making sure the kids are stocked up with essentials.

⁠ Big hearts, full bellies and plenty of smiles. That is the spirit of Mandela Month. ⁠ What better way to celebrate Mandela Month than by giving a little more life?

❤️🩸⁠ The Sygnia team rolled up their sleeves and joined the WCBS blood drive. A few minutes, a small pinch and the chance to help save lives. That is Mandela Month in action.

⁠ We were able to provide over 100 desperately needed dignity packs to the learners at **WonLife Education Centre** for a special Mandela Day drive. “On behalf of our high school learners attending our Education Centre, I want to convey a HUGE, MASSIVE, ENORMOUS “THANK YOU” to the whole Sygnia team for their extremely generous donation of much needed dignity / toiletry packs.

We are deeply grateful as the timing of these items are just as we needed them. In fact, one of our Education Centre team members mentioned that the high school learners were actually asking her last week for assistance with dignity / toiletry /packs. * Registered public benefit organisations (PBOs) with projects in education/educational support. * Sustainable partners who can create a long-term, lasting impact, and who consistently and effectively raise funds from a variety of different donors to meet their objectives, rather than being dependent on only one or two donors. * Partners with a proven track record of successful outcomes are preferred.

### Who is excluded from funding consideration?

* Political or quasi-political bodies * Religious organisations * Individual school requests * Overseas tours and exchanges * Sporting activities, sports and recreation clubs * Music festivals/choirs and/or video and film productions * Fundraising gala events * Conferences, workshops and memorial lectures * Advertising in educational or other supplements * Company promotions and membership subscriptions * General fundraising requests * Commercial ventures (closed corporations and other for-profit activities) ### How do I apply for funding?

If you are a registered organisation that focuses on education from early childhood development through to tertiary education, please send the application form together with all required documentation tosygcsi@sygnia. co. za.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. ### When is the application deadline? Please note funding for 2026 **has closed**.

If you would like to apply for funding in 2027 please note that our application period opens on 01 February and closes on 31 March 2027. ### What is the funding period? Proposals are reviewed and funding decisions are made in March each year.

Successful applicants will be advised in writing. While we endeavour to respond to every application, if you have not received any correspondence from us by end-May, please consider your application unsuccessful. ## Need help?
