CRA Grants & Funding Updates At its November 13, 2025 meeting, the CRA Board approved updates to the CRA Grants and Funding Policy. These revisions apply to the following grants: Commercial Exterior Grants Commercial Interior Grants The changes take effect on January 1, 2026.

Starting December 15, 2025, staff will begin scheduling required pre-application meetings for prospective Commercial Exterior and Commercial Interior grant applicants. Please note: all meetings will be scheduled for after January 1, 2026. As usual, applications may only be submitted following a successful Pre-Application Meeting.

Grants Not Yet Open for Meeting Scheduling Pre-Development Grant - Procurement of professional service providers is currently underway. Services are expected to begin in Spring 2026, and pre-application meetings will be scheduled once providers are under contract. Special Project Grants & Funding Requests - The CRA Board will review guidelines and processes at its February 12, 2026 meeting.

Pre-application meetings for these funding sources will be scheduled only after the Board approves guidelines and sets an effective date. The goal is to enhance the overall aesthetics and value of commercial properties, attract new partners and investors, and offer alternative sources of capital for addressing the challenges associated with blighted properties.

The Tampa CRA guides its funding decisions through consistency with Florida Statutes, adopted Community Redevelopment Plans, strategic goals identified by the CRA Board, and budgeted tax increment revenues. The Pre-development Grant is not accepting applications at this time. We anticipate opening in Spring 2026 and will share updates as they become available.

Commercial Exterior Grant Guidelines Commercial Interior Grant Guidelines Pre-Development Grant Guidelines Legacy Credit was designed to reward property owners who already have an existing financial commitment in the Tampa CRA. Long-term property owners may be able to reduce or eliminate grant owner-match requirements and utilize direct contractor payments of the grant awards. Learn More and How to Apply: Prospective applicants must schedule a pre-application meeting with CRA staff prior to submitting a grant application. Appointments may be requested by calling (813) 274-8325 or by submitting an online request . No grant application shall be accepted for review until after a pre-application meeting with staff has occurred.

Grant funds are provided at the discretion of the CRA Board and the submission of an application does not create an entitlement to funding. Grants will be awarded on a first-qualified, first-awarded basis while fiscal year funds are available. Applicants may exhaust the maximum allowable grant across each TCRA.
