Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) is a program from the City of Sheboygan that funds development projects that would not otherwise occur without financial support. The city designates Tax Increment Districts (TIDs) and captures incremental property tax revenue generated by new development within each district to pay for public infrastructure improvements, development incentives, and administrative costs.
Developers and businesses pursuing qualifying projects within active TIDs in Sheboygan may apply for TIF assistance. There is no fixed grant amount — funding is structured through individual development agreements tied to each district. Applications are accepted through the City of Sheboygan TIF application form.
