Hunter College - School of Education School of Education Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant--> Scholarships and Opportunities Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Scholarships and Opportunities Teacher Opportunity Corps II (TOC II) Robert Noyce Scholarship Program Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Clinical Experience for Educator Development (CEED) Scholars Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000 a year to eligible undergraduate and graduate students who are completing or plan to complete coursework needed to begin a career in teaching.
The amount of the award is based on the number of credits registered for in each semester. Please note, due to the federal sequester, for any 2026-27 TEACH Grant first disbursed on or after October 1, 2025, and before October 1, 2026, the maximum award of $4,000 is reduced by 5. 7% ($228), resulting in a maximum award of $3,772.
TEACH Grant eligibility requirements Students must be matriculated into a high need subject area program. Please see current list below. Students must be registered for courses.
Students must have a GPA of 3. 25 or greater. (For first semester students, you may also qualify with an undergraduate GPA of 3.
25 or greater or score within the 75th percentile on any part of a standardized exam ex. GRE, teaching certification test. Exam must have been taken within the last 5 years.)
In addition to the above, undergraduate students must have completed 60 credits prior to application.
As a condition for receiving a TEACH Grant, you must sign a TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve in which you agree to (among other requirements) to teach in a high-need field at an elementary school, secondary school, or educational service agency that serves students from low-income families for at least four complete academic years within eight years after completing (or ceasing enrollment in) the course of study for which you received the grant.
and apply for certification within 120 days of graduating If you do not complete your service obligation, all TEACH Grant funds you received will be converted to a Direct Unsubsidized Loan. You must then repay this loan to the U.S. Department of Education, with interest charged from the date the TEACH Grant was disbursed (paid to you or on your behalf).
2026 to 2027 List of High Need Subject Area Programs at Hunter College Adolescent Languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, Latin) BA and MA Adolescent Math BA and MA Adolescent Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Computer, Earth, Physics) BA and MA Blind and Visually Impaired MSED Bilingual Education (Early Childhood or Childhood) MSED Deaf and Hard of Hearing MSED Special Education (Early Childhood, Childhood, Adolescent, All Grades) MSED Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) K – 12 MA Advanced certificate programs do not qualify for the TEACH Grant.
Continuing Students are those who have previously been awarded the grant at Hunter or elsewhere. The deadline to apply is the first day of the summer semester. New Students are those who who have never been awarded the grant.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama.
