TEACH Grant Program - Department of Teacher Education - York College York College is a participant in the Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education program (TEACH Grant). The grant provides up to $4,000. 00 a year to students who are enrolled in an eligible program and intend to teach in a critical need area in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.
As a TEACH Grant recipient, you must teach for at least four academic years within eight calendar years of completing the program of study for which you received a TEACH Grant. ***Students that do not meet the requirements of their service obligation will have their TEACH Grants converted to Direct Unsubsidized Student Loans.
These loans will have to be repaid back to the U.S. Department of Education, with interest charged from the date of each grant disbursed .
