With its partners, Lumina works toward a goal of 75 percent of Americans with a college degree, workforce certificate, or another high-quality credential beyond high school by 2040.
Lumina’s outcomes-based approach focuses on helping to design and build an equitable, accessible, responsive, and accountable post-high school education system for all. While we recognize there are many worthy ideas and organizations, Lumina does not accept or respond to unsolicited requests/letters of inquiry .
Our grantmaking is primarily proactive in nature, where we solicit ideas directly from partners based on their unique capacities to leverage large-scale systemic change. The National Technical Assistance Programs (NTAP) is a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care that funds cooperative agreements to develop and deliver technical assistance to existing and potential health centers. With $24 million expected to fund three NTAP cooperative agreements, the program focuses on supporting comprehensive, high-quality primary health care delivery, chronic disease management, nutrition, and preventive services, as well as operational effectiveness and compliance. Eligible applicants are organizations in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. The application deadline for fiscal year 2026 is March 31, 2026.
FY2026 Runaway Homeless Youth Training, Technical Assistance, and Capacity Building Center (RHYTTAC) is sponsored by Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families (ACF). This cooperative agreement strengthens and builds the capacity of runaway and homeless youth and other youth-serving professionals and service providers nationwide by developing relevant and interactive training products, disseminating evidence-based practices, providing targeted technical assistance, and leading coordination activities among RHY award recipients and partner organizations.
The Innovative Postsecondary Models Fund — Gates, Lumina, Strada, Ascendium, ECMC, College Futures, Haas Jr., and Raikes, administered by Panorama Global — will make 7 to 10 grants of $750,000 to $1,000,000. Eligibility is unusually wide and the gates are unusually specific. One of them eliminates most applicants outright, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the idea.
