What engagements are eligible for the Technology Empowerment Grant?

Microsoft 365 Assessments and Health Checks Uncover misconfigurations and opportunities to improve Microsoft 365 performance and security. Strategic IT Planning & Roadmapping Build a clear, cloud-ready technology roadmap based on your goals and current IT environment. Deployment & Migration Services Modernize your systems with expert-led deployments and cloud migrations tailored to your needs.

Physical Device & Space Setup Get hardware and workspaces configured and ready for use by your team or community. Propose a service-aligned project that supports your mission. (Must be aligned with Apex Digital’s capabilities.)

Who is eligible for the Technology Empowerment Grant?

To be eligible to apply to receive the grant, organizations must: Be headquartered in Michigan and serving at least one of the following Michigan counties: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, or Washtenaw Have 501(c)(3) status in good standing Employ at least 50 employees Demonstrate $15M+ annual revenue Date Milestone July 28, 2025 Application Window Opens September 8, 2025 Application Window Closes October 3, 2025 Award Selection Notification by October 17, 2025 Discovery & Expectation Session by March 31, 2026 Grant Project Services Delivered by May 29, 2026 Grant Story Interview What is the application process?

The grant application process includes 3 steps: Participation in Nonprofit Technology Workshop (Optional; not required for application submission) Application Interview Call (if applicable) To begin the grant process, applicants should complete the Eligibility Screening at a pexdigital. com/grant-eligibility . Organizations that meet the initial criteria will receive an invitation via email with a link to submit the full application.

Take the First Step: Check Your Organization’s Eligibilty Can an organization submit a proposal for another type of project or service category? Yes, applicants are welcome to propose other service-based projects that align with their own organization’s goals and Apex Digital’s capabilities. Apex Digital reserves the right to decline any proposals that fall outside of their standard business offerings.

Proposed project categories will still only be considered for those that have the necessary hardware, devices, and licensing in place. Does an organization need to have an audit, or will a financial review and 990 form be sufficient? Organizations need to submit the most recently completed audit.

If there are barriers which impede your organization providing this information, please notify the Apex Digital team for further review. Is there a minimum number of individuals served needed to apply? No, there is no minimum number of individuals served in order to apply.

Applicants will be asked to identify or share more information about their mission, who they are and serve, and how this proposed project will support their work and impact goals. We are currently in the middle of our audit. Will our application still be considered if the audit isn’t complete before the application due date?

Yes, it will be considered. Please communicate your concern to us within the application. Are devices or licensing included in the service(s) provided by Apex Digital?

Grant funding does not cover hardware or licensing. Organizations must have the necessary hardware and licenses already in place or be prepared to purchase them separately outside of the grant. Is this a revenue-based grant?

No, this is a service-based grant. That means that the selected grantee will receive $25,000 worth of services to support and complete the proposed project. The Apex Digital Solutions team will partner with the awarded organization outlining an agreed upon scope of work within the grant award value.

Does an organization need to be a non-profit to receive funding? Yes, the service-based grant is meant to be awarded to one eligible non-profit organization. An organization must be in good standing with the State of Michigan and the Internal Revenue Service and will be required to upload a copy of their IRS designation letter, 990 form, W-9, and financial statements.

Organizations may not apply with a fiduciary for this service-based grant. Approximately how many grants do you anticipate awarding? At this time, just one eligible, non-profit organization will be awarded a grant.
