Rep. Russo Announces Approval of Nearly $600K in Grants for Tech Start-Ups | Bill Roemer | Ohio House of Representatives COLUMBUS - State Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) yesterday announced that the Controlling Board has approved the release of nearly $600K in grant funding to support medical tech start-ups in House District 7.
“This investment represents more than financial support,” said Rep. Russo . “It is a commitment to innovation, scientific excellence, and the health and well-being of our communities.
Medical technology research is the engine that drives earlier diagnoses, more effective treatments, and better patient outcomes. It is essential that we not only foster innovation in the lab but also ensure that these new technologies can reach the public efficiently and responsibly.
By supporting these emerging companies, we are empowering researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs to transform breakthrough ideas into real-world solutions that can save lives and improve quality of care.
” The Technology Validation Start-up Fund provides grants to transition technology developed by Ohio institutions of higher education and other nonprofit research institutions into the marketplace through Ohio start-up companies. Phase 2 of this grant funding will provide the initial seed funding for these start-ups as they work to commercialize this revolutionary technology.
$200K for OncoMechanics, LLC to commercialize small molecule therapies that boost the effectiveness of immunotherapies that kill cancer cells. $200K for EndoEvolve LLC to commercialize an endoscopic hand support device that lowers the muscle activation needed to perform gastrointestinal endoscopy.
$199K for Pantronix LLC to commercialize a mass spectrometry component used for techniques that identify and quantify certain compounds in the field of analytical chemistry.
