Skip Navigation Links PSC > Telemedicine Grant The Medical Telecommunications Equipment Program is a two-year grant program under the Universal Service Fund that enables "Non-profit medical clinics" or "Public health agencies" to apply for funding to purchase medical telecommunications equipment ( Wis. Admin. Code § PSC 160.
115 ). On a fiscal year basis, up to $500,000 may be available to purchase medical telecommunications equipment that will promote technologically advanced medical services, and/or enhance access to medical care in rural or underserved areas of the state, or to underserved populations or to persons with disabilities.
Applicant must be either: A "Nonprofit medical clinic," including certain hospitals that are governed by a board of directors, and that serve federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA), or Medically underserved populations (as defined in 42 USC 254e (a) (1) - see HPSA MAPS ) , and that serves all patients regardless of health-insurance status, or serves uninsured patients using an income-base sliding fee scale.
Or a "Public health agency," including the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, or any local health departments as defined in Wis. Stat. § 250.
