Ten Million Hands Grant

Part of a €63.2 million package of Digital Europe Programme calls published on April 21, 2026, this specific call funds training programs for advanced digital skills across the European Union. The focus areas include artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cybersecurity, and cloud computing skills development. The call aims to address the growing AI skills gap in Europe by funding large-scale training initiatives that upskill the European workforce in cutting-edge AI technologies. Projects should create reusable training curricula, certification frameworks, and hands-on learning environments. This is part of the European Commission's broader digital strategy to build European AI talent and reduce dependence on non-EU AI expertise.

Humanity AI is a 500 million dollar, five-year pooled fund launched in October 2025 by ten major foundations - MacArthur, Ford, Mellon, Mozilla, Omidyar Network, Doris Duke, Lumina, Kapor, Packard and Gates - built around the premise that AI is design rather than destiny and that the people affected by AI systems should have a hand in shaping them. Communities Leading on AI is its first competitive open call, and it is the most accessible entry point into a fund that otherwise operates largely through invited and aligned grantmaking. Ten million dollars is available, with individual grants from 75,000 to 1,000,000 dollars. Three of the fund's five issue areas are in scope for this call: education, meaning AI shaped around the interests of students and educators; labor and economy, meaning AI that enhances rather than displaces workers; and humanities, arts and culture, meaning protection for creators alongside expanded human creativity. The fund's other two priorities, democracy and security, are not part of this particular call. Applications launched 10 September 2026 and close 21 October 2026 at 4:59pm Pacific, a notably short six-week window. Review is two-phase: initial screening for eligibility, then scoring on vision, community leadership, clarity and feasibility, impact potential, and credibility, with finalists notified in December 2026 and asked for additional materials and possible interviews before awards are announced in early spring 2027. The eligibility rules reward exactly what the name suggests - community leadership. U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations may apply independently; individuals must apply through a fiscal sponsor or as part of a collaboration; for-profit entities can participate but cannot lead an application; and organizations that already received direct Humanity AI funding in 2026 may only participate inside a collaboration rather than as a lead.

Emergency Medical Services Technical Assistance (EMS TA) Solicitation for Proposals (SFP) for Program Year 2026 (PY 26-27) is sponsored by Employment Development Department. The EMS TA grant is designed to strengthen the quality, consistency, and sustainability of existing EMS Corps programs across California. The awardee must possess the capability to provide technical assistance such as operational support, on-the-ground project support, ongoing training, including technical assistance, and administrative support for program awardees under EMS Corps and Program grants. The Employment Development Department (EDD), in coordination with the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), announces the availability of up to $1.5 million in Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Governor’s Discretionary funds for the Emergency Medical Services Technical Assistance (EMS TA) Program Year 2026-27 (PY 26-27) Solicitation for Proposals (SFP). The EMS TA PY 26-27 grant supports the continued implementation, improvement, and long-term sustainability of established EMS Corps programs across California. The PY 26–27 grant is designed to strengthen existing programs by ensuring fidelity to the EMS Corps model, improving participant outcomes, and supporting consistent statewide quality. EMS Corps sites vary in their operational maturity, adherence to the EMS Corps model, and ability to deliver strong employment pathways for participants. Some programs demonstrate high alignment with the model and are positioned for continued investment, while others require deeper technical assistance due to inconsistent implementation, structural challenges, or limited job placement outcomes. Under this grant, the awarded TA provider will assess each EMS Corps site’s program fidelity, operational capacity, participant outcomes, and alignment with the local job market. This assessment will inform recommendations regarding which sites should receive additional funding for continued implementation and which require remediation or alternative support strategies. The TA provider will also deliver hands-on technical assistance, support federal compliance (including WIOA requirements), facilitate statewide coordination, strengthen partnerships with EMS and healthcare employers, and support each site’s efforts to provide high-quality training and employment opportunities for participants. Applicants must have the capacity, relationships, and expertise to deliver the necessary TA to PY 26-27 EMS Program grantees and coordinate COPs across the state. Applicants must demonstrate prior experience working with public health agencies, in line with the EMS Corps model. There are no required leveraged resources for this project. However, applicants are encouraged to leverage human capital and utilize other resources to maximize the project's success. Proposals will be accepted from Community Colleges, Institutions of Higher Education, Adult Education Providers, Education and Training Providers, Community-based Organizations, Nonprofit Organizations, Labor Organizations, and Workforce Intermediaries.
