Tepper Foundation Security Fund is sponsored by The Tepper Foundation. Provides funding to Jewish Federations to protect young Jewish children and promote interfaith bridge-building.

We pledge to fill critical gaps in philanthropic giving We are responsive and nimble in order to address immediate needs in the face of crises — from threats to democracy to natural disasters — while also taking a long-term view on giving — increasing our grantee partners’ capacity to strengthen and sustain their work for years to come.

We emphasize the value of relationships with our grantees, and we convene partners strategically to increase their impact on the communities they serve. The Tepper Foundation supports organizations on the frontlines of protecting and expanding opportunity for all, with work spanning from improving food and housing security to strengthening the nonprofit sector to supporting the Jewish community.

The Tepper Foundation assesses potential grantees based on alignment with our values, operating principles and goals alongside considering whether risks can be satisfactorily addressed.

In addition, The Tepper Foundation uses five core funding criteria to evaluate grant applications: The Tepper Foundation looks for grantees with solutions that intersect with our focus areas, have evidence of measurable impact and a credible pathway to growing impact. The Tepper Foundation looks for grantees whose work will help address critical needs gaps in communities with either services or infrastructure.

The Tepper Foundation looks for grantees with strong leadership, operational capacity and an operating model in place to achieve impact in communities. Financial Health and Sustainability The Tepper Foundation looks for grantees with a clear funding model in place that effectively uses public and private funds.

The Tepper Foundation looks for grantees whose approach centers both community and staff voices and integrates feedback into improvement processes. All grantmaking is by invitation, only. Strengthening Jewish Life and Combating Antisemitism The Tepper Foundation has a deep commitment to strengthening Jewish organizations and combating antisemitism – tying back to the Tepper family’s own Jewish identity.
