This grant supports Philadelphia-area organizations working on innovative projects in arts, culture, education, and human services.

Our Grants - The Albert M. Greenfield Foundation The Foundation works to perpetuate Mr. Greenfield’s work and creative energy by helping to improve and enhance the lives of individuals, including youth and those with special needs. We give priority consideration to organizations that identify innovative approaches to entrenched problems.

Rather than play a passive grant-making role, the Foundation prefers to serve as a partner with grantees, collaborating with them and monitoring their progress. Although he was an idealist and visionary, Mr. Greenfield was also a hardheaded pragmatist. In that spirit, the Foundation will fund only discrete programs with clear objectives that achieve measurable results.

We only support projects in the Philadelphia area. As a general rule, the Foundation does not consider applications outside of the Philadelphia region. Projects must align with our mission and values.

Such as ideals of service, the dignity of mankind, and the preservation of individual and civil liberties. Grantees should have a history of volunteer programs. Organizations must have the required infrastructure and leadership skills to execute grant projects effectively.

We fund discrete projects. We align with independent projects that have their own objectives, timeline, budget, and success metrics. We fund innovative programs.

The Foundation prefers to support special initiates that make a significant difference in an organization’s future. Provide measurable results. Project plans must include criteria for evaluating success, making it possible to measure and report on outcomes.

The Albert M. Greenfield Foundation has a preference for supporting projects that address significant problems in new ways and that have the potential to be replicated by others, both locally and nationally.

Organizations that receive funding have: • Strong track record of projects • Exceptional volunteer & staff leadership The Foundation generally does not provide operating support, preferring instead to support special projects and innovative programs that can make a significant difference in the organization’s future and that of its constituents. Does the Foundation have formal grant deadlines? We do not have formal grant deadlines. The Foundation leadership team meets two to three times per year.

Will I receive written feedback if my grant application is declined? All applicants will receive a final decision about their grant application. However, due to the high volume of project proposal submissions, the Foundation regrets that we cannot provide individual feedback to each applicant on the reason for a grant’s denial.
