The Black-Led Movement Fund

The Black-Led Movement Fund is sponsored by Borealis Philanthropy. This fund provides two-year general operating grants to support grassroots, Black-led power-building efforts aligned with the Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) and other aligned organizations.

Black-Led Movement Fund - Borealis Philanthropy BLMF GRANTEE PARTNER, SOLUTIONS NOT PUNISHMENT COLLABORATIVE (SNAP CO) BLMF GRANTEE PARTNER, DREAM DEFENDERS BLMF GRANTEE PARTNER, ACTION STL From 2016 to 2025, Borealis Philanthropy’s Black-Led Movement Fund (BLMF) invested over $39 million to support the Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) and other values-aligned organizations committed to shaping policy agendas for Black communities, creating alternatives to institutions that have been harmful to Black people, and building local Black community power.

By ensuring Black-serving movement organizers had the resources, visibility, infrastructure and leadership capacity needed to sustain their day-to-day work at a critical time, the BLMF enabled both emerging and growing groups to combat anti-Black racism, ableism, and state violence in their communities, and pursue lasting transformational change.
