It has an active network of over 42 chapters in states across the United States. Among other activities, TCF-USA supports specific programs, initiatives and projects of The Citizens Foundation (TCF) in Pakistan, one of the leading organizations in the field of education in that country. TCF was started in 1995 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to bring about social change through education.

In 30 years, it has built and operates 2,261 purpose-built schools providing quality education to 320,000 children, with an all-female faculty of 16,500 teachers. TCF-USA donors have built and supported over 800 of these elementary & secondary schools with an enrollment of 122,000+ boys and girls.

TCF-USA’s Board of Directors exercises full discretion and control over the use of all donations and in the making of grants to support specific projects in Pakistan. Contributions to TCF-USA are tax-deductible in the U.S. as charitable contributions to the fullest extent permitted by law.

As I planned a short visit to Pakistan recently, TCF was definitely one of my priorities. In Karachi, my first stop was a TCF school and the relatively new TCF College. I support TCF to educate Pakistan When I look back at my time at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), I remember it among my fondest moments.

After all, it was here where I was exposed to new ideas, experienced some of my happiest but also saddest times and built relationships that will last a lifetime.
