The Eaton Fund – Artists' Grants is sponsored by The Eaton Fund. Supports individual artists (including painters, potters, sculptors, photographers) in financial need for the purchase of art materials and equipment.

Our grants are for things related to artistic practice, such as materials, framing for exhibitions and small items of equipment. Our maximum grant is £350.

Please understand that this is a small charity and we cannot fund on-going costs, e.g. living costs or studio rental. It can take up to eight weeks to process an application, although we do try to be quicker and we thank you for your patience. Trustees will not fund retrospectively , so we cannot offer grants for projects that are starting within the next eight weeks.

For example, materials for a residency with a fixed start date within the next eight weeks or for an exhibition with a fixed start date within the next eight weeks . You can make your application using the form below. There are six pages and you will need to fill in each page before you can move on.

Before you start you will need to prepare: A copy of your referee’s letter of support (in doc, docx or pdf form, 500KB maximum ) A brief description of your project (200 words is ideal). A brief breakdown of the items you hope to buy, with costings. If you have a problem with the form email admin@eatonfund.

org. uk Tell us about your education in art. We do understand that many artists are self-taught We need an independent referee who can confirm that you are a practicing artist.

Your referee could be a university tutor, a curator or gallerist. Referee's letter of support - please upload in doc, docx, pdf, jpeg or jpg format. Max file size is 500KB.

Give a brief description of the project you want us to contribute to. We use the first 100 words to circulate to our committee. Get the important details in first e.g. have you got an upcoming show or specific project in mind?

Which media will you use e.g. paint, clay, fabric, found objects, mixed media installation, etc.? You can upload extra documentation about your project here. Two pages maximum.

Format doc, docx or pdf, with max file size 500KB Your website showing your art practice If you don't have a website, please upload 4 photos of different works. Max 4 photos with total file size no more than 1MB. Accepted formats are jpg, jpeg, pdf Total amount requested (£).

Our average grant is around £350. Give a breakdown of the items you need with realistic costs. Other charities you have applied to and the result , if known The information you have given will be used to process your application to us.

We may contact your referee during the application process. We do not pass your details on to other organisations. We store your details electronically for the purposes of grant administration and our audit obligations.

We delete your application form and documents after the application outcome is decided and our audit requirements are met. Please confirm that you understand and agree by checking the tick box. We cannot process an application without consent from you.

If you are successful, we hope to make a payment directly to your bank account. Please check that you give us the correct details as we cannot fix payment errors if we have been given incorrect information. As a small charity, we can only offer one grant per person.
