com As the Green Bay Packers Foundation seeks to continue enhancing its charitable impact, the Foundation has announced it is launching a new four-year cycle for its annual grant program , with applications for 2026 annual grants open now until April 1. The Packers Foundation's annual grant program awards grants each year to hundreds of nonprofits in Wisconsin that support critical programs in their community and serve those in need.
Last year, $1. 5 million was donated to 395 civic and charitable groups in Wisconsin during the annual distribution of grants. Previously, Packers Foundation grant applications opened in the spring and grants were awarded in late fall, with each year of the three-year cycle focusing on a different need area.
But as nonprofits face growing demands, the Foundation has seen increasing numbers of grant applications each year. To ensure the Foundation is providing ample support to the community and allow for the volunteer Packers Foundation Trustees to properly evaluate each grant application, the Foundation is now shifting to a four-year grant cycle (2026 – 2029) , with the application submission period from February to April.
This year, the Foundation will award grants to organizations that will use the funds for programs or projects that address animal welfare, homelessness and human services . The Foundation will accept only one grant application from an eligible organization during each four-year cycle. Applicants should apply during the year in which the focus area best matches their funding needs.
Only organizations whose programs fit the established criteria may apply for and be considered for grants. Grant amounts can range from $3,000 to $8,000 and recipients may not receive the total amount requested. Grant distributions vary annually based on number of applications and total amount of funding approved for distribution.
All grant applications received will be reviewed by the Green Bay Packers Foundation Trustees, who will finalize the list of grant recipients in July. A public announcement of the grant recipients will take place in August or September.
Organizations that are classified as exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code with a valid IRS Tax ID for a minimum of two years and are located in the state of Wisconsin are eligible to apply for a grant.
