Scholarships :: The Health Plan The Health Plan believes that a degree in the medical field should be attainable for everyone. Our scholarship provides need-based funds to medical students at West Virginia University School of Medicine, Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Additionally, we provide need-based nursing scholarships to students at WVU’s School of Nursing and West Virginia State University. Since 2009, The Health Plan has provided over $3. 7 million in scholarships to 70 medical and nursing students who have the intention to stay and practice in the area.
To be eligible for our THP scholarship, students must originate from our service area, qualify for the Federal Pell Grant during undergrad, and intend to practice in West Virginia.
