__________________________________________________________________ THAW is not currently accepting applications for water bill assistance. ​ THAW is unable to accept walk-ins on Fridays. ​ The Michigan Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) has updated its application process, making eligibility less restrictive.

Representatives are available Monday-Friday 8AM – 4:45PM. MI Neighborhood 2. 0 (MIN) is one of our home repair programs, funded by MSHDA and provided by the Neighborhood Development Division.

MIN is a part of the Statewide Housing Plan, which was created to help families maintain stability in their homes, one neighborhood at a time. For MIN 2. 0 we will be assisting residents in Pontiac, MI in the Woodward Estates neighborhood with home repairs.

Residents of Pontiac, MI (Woodward Estates only) will need to complete a home repair application online on our application portal. Customers are approved on a first come first serve basis. Submitting your application is not an approval.

Customer must have ALL required documents submitted to be approved. We will determine the repairs for the customers based on health and safety measures, as well as energy efficiency for the home. If customer repairs are over $9,999.

00, a lien is required for that customer (Lien: can’t sale home for 5 years, or they will have to pay for repairs).

0 Pontiac, MI Woodward Estates residents ONLY Do you need energy assistance? THAW works with agencies across Michigan to provide emergency energy and utility help to households facing financial difficulties. THAW has multiple utility assistance programs available which are open to income-eligible Michigan residents.

However, before seeking THAW assistance, we encourage you to contact your utility provider to see what options may be available to you. Grants to households are approved at the discretion of THAW staff and our agency partners. Find out about Individual Programs below.

THAW administers the Michigan Energy Assistance Program (MEAP). MEAP provides direct bill payment assistance for heat and electricity for low-income Michigan residents.

Families must complete a two-step process to qualify for MEAP funds. Brightmoor Energy & Water Assistance Program Residents of Brightmoor who meet eligibility requirements can receive energy and water bill assistance through the Brightmoor Energy & Water Assistance Program. This program is made possible by a generous grant from the Max M.

and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation. MI Water (Water Assistance Through Efficiency and Repairs) Program We are excited and grateful to partner with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and MI-HOPE to implement THAW’s MI Water (Michigan Water Assistance Through Efficiency and Repairs) program.

This program supports healthy housing for financially insecure Michigan residents by maintaining water services. MI Water has four components and is being implemented in two phases. Health care providers, community agencies, DTE Energy and Consumers Energy work with THAW to provide utility assistance for customers with chronic health problems.
