HeroFund USA – The First Responder's First Responder The First Responder's First Responder Since 2016, HeroFund USA has provided life-saving safety equipment to first responders across Missouri and Kansas. We're 100% privately funded ensuring every dollar raised goes directly to protecting the heroes who protect us. The Challenge First Responders Face Every day, first responders risk their lives for our sake.
Police officers face threats at every traffic stop. Firefighters enter structures where temperatures exceed 1,200 degrees. EMS personnel risk exposure to countless hazards.
The technology and equipment to protect them exists, but many departments face budget constraints. A 'gap' often exists between what their annual budget affords and the actual safety needs that will better ensure their personnel's safety. Budget constraints force impossible choices: new equipment or adequate staffing?

Administrative costs are covered separately through our annual membership campaign, ensuring every dollar you give directly supports our mission. We're 100% privately funded, no government grants, so your support makes all the difference. What equipment does HeroFund provide?
We fund a wide range of safety equipment including body armor, ballistic helmets, K-9 vests, thermal imaging cameras, rescue gear, bunker/turnout gear, drones, communication equipment, and more. Equipment needs evolve with technology, and we adapt our funding to meet current first responder safety requirements. What is the 50/50 match program?
When a department covers 50% of equipment costs, HeroFund matches the other 50%. This doubles the impact of their budget and helps them afford critical safety gear. Who can request equipment?
Law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS agencies in our service areas can apply. Applications open January 1-31 each year for equipment needed to keep first responders safe.
