Utah Grants – The Kahlert Foundation Thank you for your interest in applying for grant funding from The Kahlert Foundation. Please note that our grant process in Utah differs from our process in Maryland. If you are seeking support in Utah, be sure to follow the specific Utah Granting Guidelines.
At the Utah office, we are dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations primarily located in Salt Lake, Summit, and Utah Counties. Our current areas of focus include: Health Care, Education, Youth Programs, Veterans, and Human Services. To be eligible for funding, your organization must meet the following criteria: Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the state of Utah for at least five years.
Have a minimum annual operating budget of one million dollars. Maintain a rating of C or better on Charity Navigator or Charity Watch and at least a Silver Seal of Transparency with Guidestar. We encourage organizations to build strong, trust-based relationships with us before seeking multi-year funding.
While we may provide multi-year support, it is not guaranteed, as each grant is evaluated on its individual merits and alignment with our mission. If your organization meets our basic guidelines and criteria, the next step is to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) for consideration via our grant management system. New applicants are required to complete this step before being considered for a grant.
This allows us to complete our due diligence, which could take up to 90 days or more, and consider the board’s interest in the organization prior to investing our limited time. Please continue to Utah’s “How to Apply” page for further instructions.
If your organization does not currently meet these criteria, we encourage you to continue your impactful work in the community and to reach out to us once you fulfill the eligibility requirements. We have dedicated teams for Maryland and Utah grants, so please refer to the “ Contact ” tab to reach the appropriate staff member for any questions or assistance needed. We appreciate your interest and dedication to serving our community!
