The Language Flagship manages a regular four-year grant cycle and welcomes proposals from Institutions of Higher Education that demonstrate the commitment to producing high proficiency students ready to become the next generation of global professionals. Announcements for the regular four-year competition and other Flagship initiative grant competitions can be found below.
Domestic Flagship Programs at a U.S. based institution of higher education are responsible for recruiting students from all majors into the Flagship program and developing a curriculum that ensures students are at an advanced level of proficiency/ ILR 2 prior to being admitted into an Overseas Flagship Capstone Program.
Overseas Flagship Capstone Programs are responsible for building on Flagship best practices by developing and implementing an intensive curriculum that successfully enables students to progress from an advanced proficiency level ILR 2 to a superior level ILR 3 in 9 to 12 months. There are currently no open grant competitions.
