The LIFT Fund (general operating support grants) is sponsored by The LIFT Fund. Catalyzes partnerships among labor and philanthropy to strengthen worker power, build thriving families, and develop strong communities.

The LIFT Fund connects labor unions and philanthropy to coordinate resources, strategies and funding that support worker organizing and power building. We provide wraparound support, multi-year funding and a low-barrier approach for grantees. We center Black and Brown workers because they are leading powerful, innovative movement building that will raise standards for everyone and transform our economy and democracy.

The LIFT Fund has invested more than $20 million in operating support grants to nonprofits, worker centers and other worker organizations across the country, mostly in the South. By 2034, we will invest more than $50 million into worker movement building. We invest in people and organizations on the frontlines of building worker power because their collective action can create a world where we all thrive together.

We invest in organizations that inspire and advocate for workers’ rights and we elevate groundbreaking alliances that prioritize racial, gender and economic justice.

To make this work possible, the LIFT Fund is supported by a broad coalition of leading foundations, labor federations and donors who are integral to the workers’ rights movement.
