Micro Grants for Social Change | The Pollination Project Empowering Visionary Changemakers with Seed Funding for Global Transformation. The Pollination Project Foundation empowers passionate volunteers across the globe by providing the critical funding they need to uplift their communities, cultures and countries. Recognizing the untapped potential of frontline changemakers, we bridge the gap in resources with grants up to $500.

These small yet powerful investments have shown us that even modest support can ignite significant impact. Our dedicated team of 75 grant advisors and 5 country coordinators, all experts in their fields, guide our funding decisions to ensure every dollar fuels meaningful change.

Beyond financial support, The Pollination Project Foundation assists grantees in taking their initial steps towards fundraising and offers first belief in their mission. Additionally, we offer capacity-building workshops, mindfulness retreats to prevent burnout, and resource navigation to ensure that our grantees’ work achieves tangible goals.

For farm animal advocates, we are able to offer large initial capital and follow on funding of up to $10,000. At TPP, we believe in people, so we invest in people. 🌿 20+ years in sustainable communication. Activist. The person who worked alongside Julia Butterfly Hill and Nobel Peace Laureate Betty Williams.

And the one making sure our grantees` stories reach the people who need to hear them. ✴️ What drew you to work with TPP? It happened by chance.

I started as a website assistant. But then I began reading the stories of our grantees, and I couldn`t look away. The courage these people carry, the scale of what they`re attempting with so little.

Those stories need to be told. And when TPP offered me the role of Director of Storytelling, I couldn`t say no. ✴️ How has working with Julia and Betty shaped how you see change? They gave me the certainty that ordinary people are the ones who change the world.

Not institutions. People. Julia was not a professional activist when she climbed that tree.

Betty Williams was a housewife when she started collecting signatures for peace in Northern Ireland. And she won the Nobel Peace Prize. I carry those stories as proof that what one person decides to do matters enormously.

I don`t tell stories to document change. I tell stories because I believe they activate something in people, a recognition that they too have that power. When someone reads about a grantee in Kenya or Rwanda or Brazil and thinks "I could do something like that," or "I want to support that person," the story has done its work.

It has moved power. ✴️ What does storytelling mean in grassroots change? It means making visible what is already happening.

A story that lands well closes the distance between someone at their computer and a community on the other side of the world. And when that distance closes, something becomes possible. Solidarity.

He watched his neighbors face the consequences of soil degradation and unpredictable rains.

Now, as a PhD candidate in Climate Change and Bioenergy with 15 years of experience in environmental protection, he is bringing science back to the soil where it belongs. With a TPP seed grant, Fikadu is transforming a traditional wheat farming cluster in Arsi Negele, Sidama, into a Living Laboratory for climate resilience.

He is training 25 smallholder households in organic composting, mulch-based moisture retention, and regenerative soil management — practical, affordable techniques that reduce dependence on costly synthetic fertilizers. Farmers will cut input costs by 30%. Soil organic carbon will rise.

And 25 lead farmers will become Climate-Smart Mentors, equipped to pass these skills on to neighboring clusters in their own languages, Oromiffa and Amharic. This is what our work makes possible: a researcher who never left his community, turning lived experience and academic knowledge into tools that farmers can hold in their hands.

You are invited to take part in the 2026 State of the Movement Survey, led by our partners at Stray Dog Institute. By participating, your organization helps build an essential picture of the movement`s financial resources. Summary results will be published by the end of 2026 and shared with the full movement to inform strategy.

The survey is open through September 30, 2026. Most organizations finish in 15 to 45 minutes. The survey is available in 130 languages.
