Other options to get involved We fund organizations and projects which disrupt our current behavioral health space and create impact at the individual, organizational, and societal levels. Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions. We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
Program Related Investments We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone. Grants Manager for Learning and Community Impact Learning and Community Impact Consultant Learning and Community Impact Consultant Administrative & Operations Coordinator Program Related Investments Grantmaking & Grant Programs The Scattergood Foundation is currently focusing its grantmaking on behavioral health workforce and policy initiatives, as well as participatory grantmaking funds that elevate community voice and lived experience.
Through this work, the Foundation seeks to strengthen systems, inform policy, and support approaches shaped by those most directly impacted. At this time, the Foundation’s grant application process for workforce and policy initiatives is by invitation only. Each participatory grantmaking fund operates with its own distinct goals and will have a separate grant application process.
Steps to Receiving a Grant Steps to Receiving a Grant Review the eligibility requirements. Create an account on our Foundant Grant Portal . Submit a Letter of Inquiry in the Foundant Grant Portal.
Staff reviews LOI, completes initial round of due diligence, and makes recommendations to the Program Committee. Program Committee reviews LOI. If the LOI is accepted by the Program Committee, staff will schedule a meeting to invite you to submit a full application.

Is your organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or does your organization have a Fiscal Sponsor? Behavioral Health Focused Does your program address mental health and/or substance use issues? Is your program a pilot project, the early adoption of a program, or a novel policy and/or advocacy effort?
The Scattergood Foundation has made a conscious decision to prioritize innovative strategies. Does your program serve Greater Philadelphia or have national impact? We prioritize funding in the Greater Philadelphia area but have the flexibility to fund organizations outside of the area, if the program has national implications.
