The program funds research labs for two years, providing seed funding, administrative and research support, and engagement opportunities within the TAMIDS ecosystem. The mission of each Lab is to develop knowledge, resources, and community around its focus area, encompassing research, education, and outreach. We solicit proposals to establish new Labs through a competitive grant proposal process.
TAMIDS supports each awarded Lab for two years through a combination of seed funding for new research, effort from TAMIDS personnel, administrative support, and opportunities to engage with the TAMIDS network of programs, partners, and participants. We are not currently accepting proposals for new thematic labs.

Craig and Galen Brown Foundation Scholarship is a grant from Texas A&M University that funds four-year undergraduate scholarships for exceptional high school students who are recognized as National Merit Semifinalists and plan to major in STEM disciplines or business. Since 1992, the Brown Foundation has partnered with Texas A&M University to award more than 500 four-year scholarships, with the undergraduate award valued at approximately $100,000. Additional opportunities include graduate EnMed scholarships (valued at $60,000), Houston Methodist Research Institute summer internships, and a global summer internship with Bray International.
