, MD-granting medical school who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to service.

Scholarships and Awards | National Medical Fellowships Scholarships & Financial Empowerment Since its inception, National Medical Fellowships financial empowerment has been at the core of its programming. NMF scholarship programs recognize merit as well as financial need. Over the years, funding for scholarships has come from hundreds of foundations and from individuals.

NMF actively seeks and welcomes partnerships to build and expand the types and amount of support we provide to our scholars. Cycle 1: January 12 - February 23, 2026 Dr. Nathalie Johnson Scholarship Established in 2024, this $25,000 scholarship will be awarded to two medical students who have demonstrated an interest in reducing the Black maternal mortality gap. The recipients must be enrolled in an LCME-accredited, U.S., MD-granting medical school in Oregon, and must have demonstrated financial need.

Don Levin Trust Scholarship This $10,000 scholarship will support a rising first-year medical student matriculated in a U.S. accredited medical (MD/DO) school who has Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) approval. Applicants will also demonstrate a commitment to working with underserved populations. (Not accepting new applications in 2026.)

Cycle 2: April 6 - May 17, 2026 NBME/NMF Scholarship Fund The annual NBME/NMF Scholarship program provides $10,000 scholarships per year – renewable for up to three years – to 20 second-year medical students enrolled in U.S. accredited schools. Established in 2023, the program aims to support aspiring physicians who demonstrate financial need and a commitment to serving their communities. Drs.

Ludlow & Ruth Creary Family Foundation Scholarship Established in 2020, this scholarship provides $2,500 to an African American or Black first- or second-year undergraduate student, as permitted by applicable law, from California and/or attending a four-year college or university in California, and is interested in the allied health professions.

Dr. Theodore Quincy Miller Scholarship Established in 2019 to honor the memory of NMF alumnus Dr. Theodore Quincy Miller, this need-based scholarship awards $5,000 to one African American male medical student, as permitted by applicable law, enrolled at an LCME-accredited, U.S., MD-granting medical school who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to service. Brown, Jr. and Faith Nicole Brown in Memory of Lawrence S. Brown III Established in 2024 by Dr. Lawrence S. Brown, Jr. and Dr. Faith Nicole Brown in memory of Lawrence S.

Brown, this scholarship will award $17,500 to a medical student attending a medical school in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. Applicants should discuss their leadership, research, and clinical experience, as well as their commitment to health excellence as part of their application. Mary Enid Trotman Scholarship Fund This award of $10,000 is for one first-year medical student and is renewable for up to five years.

If selected scholar completes medical school in four years, new scholar will be chosen for final year. Selected scholar must has graduated from a Pennsylvania high school and scholarship will be awarded, as permitted by applicable law, to eligible students who identify as African American or Hispanic.

Cycle 3: June 29 - August 9, 2026 Dorothy and Willie Williams Memorial Scholarship Established in 2020 by NMF alumna Dr. Felecia Williams in memory of her parents, Mrs. Dorothy Williams and Mr. Willie James Williams, this need-based $5,000 scholarship wis awarded to a medical student who meets the following eligibility criteria: 1) originally from Detroit, Michigan, 2) first in their family to go to college, 3) enrolled in an accredited U.S. medical school for the coming academic year, 4) has documented financial need, and 5) has demonstrated an interest in pediatrics.

This scholarship may be renewed provided that the student remains in good academic standing.

Health Excellence Accelerator Fund (HEAF) Scholarship HEAF is an innovative partnership providing access to educational and professional advancement opportunities for medical students who express financial need and ultimately aim to serve populations with limited access to health care, poor health outcomes and communities chronically underserved by our healthcare systems.

All patients benefit when our nation's health care workforce draws practitioners from a wide variety of backgrounds with a wide variety of experiences. HEAF stands as a focal point for philanthropy and a career launch pad to build such a workforce.

Health Care Scholars United Program The United Health Foundation’s Health Care Scholars United program provides scholarships and support to future clinicians with a goal of helping to improve health care access, experiences, and outcomes for all.

This scholarship will award $10,000 to 40 future clinicians who show leadership in the early stages of their career, and a commitment/interest in research to promote healthier communities for all. This scholarship can be renewed through the 2027-2028 academic year, if eligible.

This opportunity is open to students enrolled in the following accredited degree programs: Dental (DDS or DMD), DO, DO/Dual Degree, Graduate-level nursing, MD, MD/Dual Degree, MSW, PA, and PharmD. Vituity Cares Future Healthcare Leaders Award Established in 2026, this scholarship will provide an $8,500 award to support a student in a healthcare profession that exemplifies strong potential for leadership during and after their education.

Additionally, eligible students pursuing a healthcare profession, will also demonstrate a strong commitment to community impact and academic promise. Dr. Randolph Chase Scholars Made possible by the Anita K. Hersh Philanthropic Fund, this scholarship honors the enduring memory of Dr. Randolph M.

Chase, Jr. Two or more Dr. Randolph Chase Scholars will be identified for this generous scholarship, in which final scholarship amounts will be calculated annually to comprehensively cover up to the cost of attendance after other federal, state, institutional or other scholarship and non-loan aid is applied.

Dr. Randolph Chase Scholars may receive this scholarship for an additional 3 years when meeting renewal guidelines or up to the end of their medical school enrollment. Preference is given to students that demonstrate a strong interest in primary care, family medicine or community-based healthcare and improving access to care.

Geographic preference will also be given to medical students originally from the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut regions or medical students attending designated medical schools either in the New York area or outside the region. Applicants' experiences, interests, and commitment to service will be considered when making selections.
