Who supports the career advancement of hospitality professionals? We have been doing so since 2012. The mission of the Timothy S.
Y. Lam Foundation is to support research, education, and training within the hospitality industry by bestowing scholarships and grants to those seeking careers or advancement in the hospitality industry; funding education programs that promote the hospitality industry; and awarding research grants to those interested in blending academia with practical industry know-how.
Primary Goals: To support the professional development and academic advancement of the hospitality industry by continuing to support the foundation’s current programs, promote recipients, maintain positive working relationships with associations, and provide support to underserved communities with individuals pursuing hospitality education, training, and job advancement.

The Timothy S Y Lam Foundation offers annual grants to hospitality associations and other organizations seeking to expand their educational programming and certification training. The aim is to improve the professional lives of hospitality workers and develop future leaders.
Timothy D. Mayer Charitable Foundation Co-op for Social Good Work Term is a grant from the University of Waterloo that funds experiential learning opportunities for full-time undergraduate students in the PharmD program pursuing co-op or clinical placements in northern, remote, or rural locations working with Indigenous communities. The Mayer Foundation Experiential Award provides up to $2,000 per recipient and is limited to students enrolled in Year Two, Three, or Four of the PharmD program in the School of Pharmacy. Applicants must submit a two-page letter describing their goals, plans for community immersion, and how the funds would support their placement. Application deadlines are June 15 for fall placements, October 15 for winter, and February 15 for spring experiences. Eligible applicants include Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students with a valid study permit.
