TMA Research Grants Program - The Myositis Association The Myositis Association recognizes that the myositis patient’s best hope for a cure lies in research. The goal of The Myositis Association’s Research Grant Program is to develop a better understanding of myositis diseases, create better treatments, and, ultimately, find a cure for myositis.

TMA began funding research in 2002, and has continued to fund promising myositis research ever since.

The Myositis Association’s (TMA) Research Grant Program provides financial support to qualified investigators and clinicians for basic, translational, and clinical research across the spectrum of myositis diseases and specialties with the goal of advancing our understanding of the underlying causes and pathophysiology, means of prevention, early detection, accurate diagnosis, effective treatments, and methods for curing myositis and related diseases and complications.

In the 2026 grant cycle, TMA will offer four research grant opportunities that align with our Board of Directors’ research priorities together with donor supported funds. Please click the opportunity below for additional information about available research funds and how to apply.
