The grants are aimed at getting the best care in the hands of children and families impacted by commonly overlooked childhood injuries, such as traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

“These grants mark significant progress in our ongoing collaboration with community and health organizations to provide essential, high-quality pediatric care.

” As part of its commitment to sustainable programs with long-term impact, through the Way Forward Fund, Toyota is investing in and collaborating with the traumatic brain injury (TBI) care community to address gaps in TBI funding for children and help support health equity to strengthen the recovery journey for kids, families, and caregivers. The current round of funding expands the focus on bolstering community resources.

The Fund’s goal is to serve as a connector between experts and organizations for continuous improvement of TBI care. “As a mobility company, we believe a person’s ability to move is foundational to meeting their full potential,” said Ana Meade, VP of Sustainable Development Division at Toyota.

“By supporting organizations that are bridging gaps in care, we are aiming to provide more children and families access to the care they need, when they need it. ” More than $4 million in grants was made available in this most recent round of grants and sponsorships to the selected institutions, with an emphasis on raising the quality of healthcare in communities with the greatest need.

According to National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), TBI is a major pediatric health condition that is often under-recognized and urgent and long-term care resources for TBI are often under-resourced.
