Diversity, Equity and Inclusion There are 5 different types of grants awarded by the V Foundation including V Scholar Grants, Translational Grants, Game-Changer Grants, Mission Grants and All-Star Grants, each varying in size and duration. Because of highly competitive reviews, V Foundation grant recipients invariably have excellent reputations within the scientific community.
Learn more about the grant selection process The V Scholar Grant is a four-year grant of $200,000 per year. The V Scholar Award supports tenure-track faculty early in their cancer research careers by funding projects that are either laboratory-based fundamental research or translational research. The Translational Grant is a four-year grant of $200,000 per year. These grants support “bench to bedside” research whose endpoint is often planning or initiation of a clinical trial. Translational projects should move a novel strategy from the laboratory to a human clinical trial or use specimens from a clinical trial to develop biomarkers or mechanisms.
The All-Star Grant is a re-investment in previous V Scholar, Translational, or Game-Changer (previously Designated) cancer research grant recipients who are invited to apply for a $1,000,000 grant payable over 5 years. Type of cancer research funded is specific to the RFA. We are looking for the most innovative ideas to improve the cancer landscape for patients.
This grant type supports basic or translational research. These are special grant opportunities for applications that arise out of donor interest, fundraising events or special funding partnerships with other nonprofit or corporate partners. These grants are part of our Powered by the V grant portfolio.
Mission grants are a smaller grant opportunities that support educational projects within the V Foundation’s focus to advance research processes.
