Transportation Financial Assistance (NHCO)

Transportation Financial Assistance (NHCO) is sponsored by North Hills Community Outreach. This program provides financial assistance for transportation to support and stabilize a person's job or education/re-training goals. Assistance can include car repairs, gas cards, and help with other transportation-related expenses.

Transportation Assistance — North Hills Community Outreach Transportation Financial Assistance Lack of reliable transportation can be a barrier for individuals seeking employment, getting to/from work, and it can limit employment opportunities. NHCO Transportation Financial Assistance is targeted to support and stabilize a person's job, and in some cases their education and/or re-training goals.

Income from steady, sustainable employment is required to apply to this program. Interested applicants must document that gross monthly household income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and live in one of NHCO's pre-approved zip codes.

Assistance may include financial help for: Port Authority CONNECT Cards Past due auto loans that are not yet in repossession Reside within Allegheny County in the geographical areas served by North Hills Community Outreach South Hills Interfaith Movement Allegheny Valley Association of Churches .

Transportation Resource Coordinator Vehicle donations help to fund the Transportation Assistance program.

However NHCO does offer services to older adults such as Free Rides for Seniors or In Service of Seniors that might be of assistance to individuals 60+ with physical rides, or resources for rides.

NHCO’s Transportation Assistance program is funded through the sale of donated vehicles, and in whole or in part by a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) from the Federal Department of Health and Human Services under the administration of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development. The Allegheny County Department of Human Services administers local CSBG funding.
