TSNRP Research and EBP Awards is sponsored by TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP). TSNRP supports research on operational or deployment health topics and evidence-based practice within military nursing. Awards are available for high-priority research, novice research, and mini-EBP projects.

Funding, Education & Community for Military Nurses Funding Military Nursing Research To Support U.S. National Defense The TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) ensures America's Forces are medically ready to back up warfighters in harm's way and to care for their families at home.

Rigorous operational military nursing research and evidence-based practice (EBP) funded by TSNRP enables America to continue to project power across the globe to maintain peace. TSNRP is the only Congressionally-mandated Department of Defense program to fund research and EBP projects that save lives, solve complex problems, and improve healthcare outcomes across the entire military healthcare system.

Since 2019, TSNRP-funded research has been conducted at more than 30 sites in 23 states, and in collaboration with 35 public universities. For more than 30 years, the program has contributed to the greatest military force in history by enabling world-class nursing care anytime, anywhere.

Resources include: Battlefield and Disaster Nursing Pocket Guide , 2nd Edition utilized by military nurses on deployment and civilian first responders in disasters.

TSNRP Nursing Fellowship for military nursing officers to develop critical thinking and leadership skills to lead patient care in the rapidly evolving combat and operational nursing environments Funding for nursing research and evidence based practice projects that advance a fit and ready force.

The Executive Board of Directors , comprised of the Nursing Corps Chiefs, provides the strategic direction and authorizes all final funding decisions based on military operational relevancy and scientific evaluations conducted by an Advisory Council of active and Reserve service members from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The Executive Director , an active-duty military officer and nurse, provides long-term planning, day-to-day management, decision-making for grants administration, and mentoring of nursing fellows. Research Interest Groups are led by active-duty service members who collaborate with nurse scientists and scholars to address critical healthcare needs in the military and public health sectors.

HEALTH SYSTEMS/ INFORMATICS RIG MILITARY WOMEN'S HEALTH RIG Origin & Legacy of Military Nurse Scientists This 15-minute film short introduces four military nurse scientists who describe how their nursing research and evidence-based practice projects contribute to operational readiness, healthcare outcomes, and public safety.

TSNRP Dissemination Course Navy Nurse Awards The 2026 annual TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) Research and Evidence-Based Practice Dissemination Course took place in Ellicott City, MD this spring. Military nurse scholars from around the globe participated in networking and research discussions centered around 6 research interest groups.

With 50 research presentations (17 US Navy led presentations) and 2 keynote lectures, more than 158 nurse attendees (62 Navy) gained firsthand knowledge of the latest evidence TSNRP Deploys Digital Combat and Disaster Nursing Reference to Standardize Austere Care TSNRP released a digital guide for combat & disaster nursing, standardizing austere care for military nurses.
