### Explore Program Options Early Childhood and Elementary Education #### Secondary Education/PreK-12 ## About UCO TeachForwardOK UCO TeachForwardOK is a limited-time grant program designed to support emergency/alternatively certified teachers, paraprofessionals and career changers who are ready to take the next step toward becoming fully certified educators in Oklahoma.
The program removes financial barriers by covering 100% of in-state tuition and fees for eligible coursework required on alternative certification pathways. Whether you are already working in a school or transitioning into the profession, TeachForwardOK provides a clear, supported and affordable route to earning your certification and making an impact in Oklahoma classrooms.
UCO TeachForwardOK pays for 100% of in‑state tuition and fees for one of the following: 12 credit hours of required coursework for: * The Career Development Pathway, or * ECED/ELED Alternative Certification Six credit hours of required coursework for: * Alternative Certification in Secondary Education and K12 Certification areas *Note for non-residents: Non‑residents currently living in Oklahoma may apply but are responsible for out‑of‑state tuition/fees.

5 cumulative GPA * Be admitted or eligible for admission to the UCO Jackson College of Graduate Studies in a program aligned with your certification area: * Early Childhood or Elementary Education * M. Ed. in Teaching and Learning, PreK-6, OR * Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning, PreK-6 * M.
Ed. in Secondary Education * Be an Oklahoma resident * Have no prior completion of Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE)-required professional education coursework for alternative certification * Possess a clear OSDE background check (or be eligible to obtain one) * Commit to teaching in an Oklahoma public school ## Why Choose UCO TeachForwardOK?

Complete six hours of OSED-required coursework, including Classroom Management and Designing Instruction for Secondary Students (pedagogy course) via live online classes.
* Finish both courses in one semester using an eight-week block schedule for each. * Earn a course material stipend ($100) reimbursed upon completion of two courses. * Participate in online workshops that support teacher certification requirements.
