opens in new tab or window Small Business Grant Opportunity The Small Business Grant is a program available for existing small businesses located in Kansas City, KS, with 25 or fewer employees that are preparing for expansion and looking to move to the next level of business and job growth.
The goal of this program is to increase the number of small businesses in Kansas City, KS, support growth in the downtown corridor, and revitalize our legacy urban areas. The Unified Government will provide grants of up to $10,000 to qualified applicants. Please Note: Grant funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis and will remain available until all funds have been depleted.
Submission of an application does not guarantee funding, as awards are subject to eligibility requirements and the availability of funds.
Eligible uses of funds include: Renovation costs (sheetrock, flooring, painting, etc.) Facade improvements (painting, ceiling, etc.) Marketing expenses (web page, signage, etc.) Bars and establishments that sell alcohol with less than 50% in food sales (state and federal license required) Required documents to qualify for the Small Business Grant: Business plan of current business plans and expansion Grant summary report detailing intended use of grant funds Proof of property control (lease or deed) Occupational tax certificate Secretary of State registration Revised budget and projections for 2025 - 2028 The following business types are ineligible for grant funding: Bars and establishments that sell alcohol with more than 50% in food sales New businesses operating less than one year Please complete the online grant application using the link below: Small Business Grant Overview | DotteBiz For further questions regarding the Small Business Grant Program or the application process, please contact the Department of Economic Development at [email protected] .
