#### The international humanitarian organization **Mercy Corps**, with the support of the **Howard G. Buffett Foundation**, is expanding the **Ukraine Agricultural Support Program** (UASP) by introducing a new component focused on **supporting women farmers**.
This component aims to provide women with access to agricultural knowledge, advisory support, and financial capital, which will help increase productivity and income, as well as strengthen their resilience to current and future shocks.
#### **The program is being implemented in cooperation with partner organizations:** * #### **Eastern Ukrainian Agricultural Department of the Service** (Donetsk, Poltava and Cherkasy oblasts); * #### Charitable organization**Charitable Foundation “FIRST”**[former **Women Farmers Council**] (Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad oblasts); * #### Charitable organization**Charitable Foundation “LASKA”** (Mykolaiv, Kherson and Odesa oblasts); * #### Charitable organization**Charitable Foundation “SUPPORT AGRO”**[former Agricultural Cooperative **”Zernovyi”**] (Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kyiv oblasts).
#### **Local women¹ and internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have been affected by the war are invited to take part in the program, provided they:** * #### reside in **Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv****and Kyiv**oblasts.
²; * #### lead a household or an active agricultural business (individual entrepreneur, agricultural farm, LLC, private enterprise) **with experience** in farming **or** are looking to start a business in the agricultural production sector **without prior experience**, and have a strong motivation to acquire new knowledge and skills; * #### carry out or intend to carry out agricultural activities on a land plot of **no more than 150 hectares.
** _¹ Persons registered in the territories where hostilities are (were) ongoing the list of which was approved by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine by Order No. 376 of February 28, 2025, residing in the territory under control of the Government of Ukraine. _ _² except for areas where active hostilities are ongoing, as well as areas with limited access or high risk to life and business activities.
_ #### Program participants will be selected on a competitive basis. Priority is given to women who are running farming activities in place of mobilized or deceased family members and/or those **belonging to vulnerable groups** (including internally displaced persons, women with disabilities, single mothers, representatives of national minorities, large families, etc.). ### **SUPPORT TO WOMEN FARMERS INCLUDES:** #### 1.
Conducting **a comprehensive training program** covering two areas: * #### specialized agricultural training in one of the following areas: vegetable growing, berry farming, horticulture, beekeeping, poultry farming, cattle farming, pig farming, rabbit farming, sheep farming, goat farming, and more. #### The training program **lasts 7 weeks.
** Classes will be held **twice a week in an online format**, allowing participants to learn from anywhere. For convenience, **video recordings of the classes will also be available. ** #### The training program is designed to meet the needs of women with varying levels of education and experience, using simple language and visual materials.
#### 2. Participants who successfully complete the training will have the opportunity **to take part in educational trips to leading farms** in their chosen areas, aimed at gaining practical skills, with transportation and related costs covered. #### 3.
The opportunity to receive **financial assistance** ranging from **3 000** to **7,000 USD** to start or expand own business. _* In the equivalent amount in hryvnias, according to the current exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). The provided assistance may be higher or lower depending on the business idea and needs.
_ #### **What are the conditions for receiving financial assistance? ** * #### successful completion of the training program; * #### a realistic and feasible business idea; * #### for those planning to start a new business – the availability of the minimum necessary resources to launch the business (e.g., land, premises, water and electricity supply, etc.). #### Program participants will be selected on a competitive basis.
#### We will also evaluate your applications for assistance based on the **security risks identified by Mercy Corps. ** #### 4. **Mentorship support.
** #### For participants who receive funding, the program provides **mentorship support** from agricultural experts. #### The application deadline is **February 15, 2026. ** Please note that if the required number of participants is reached, **registration may close earlier.
