Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases UNC Project-Malawi Cancer Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Type: Fellowship, research grants, workshop grants Focus: Clinical technology, transnational and applied cancer research, cancer policy, cervical cancer, palliative care, pediatric cancer, registry development The Fellowships Programme is a core activity of UICC with a 50-year long history and currently administers five international fellowships.
It plays a major role in UICC’s mission and vision to build capacity and contribute to the professional development of cancer investigators, clinicians, nurses, cancer society staff, and volunteers, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries.
International Cancer Technology Transfer Fellowship (ICRETT) Fellowship focusing on rapid transfer of cancer knowledge and clinical technology Amount: average $3,400 (least expensive international travel and living costs) Application Deadline: Applications accepted at any time Yamagiwa-Yoshida Memorial International Cancer Study Grants (YY) Research plans concerning basic, translational or applied cancer research are accepted from PhD’s.
Prevention-oriented projects are especially encouraged. Amount: 15 grants are awarded of $10,000 each Application Deadline: 15 January and 15 July Supports training workshops that lead to capacity building in low- and middle-income countries. Preference is given to projects focusing on cancer policy, cervical cancer, palliative care, paediatric oncology and registry development.
Duration: No limits on duration Amount: $30,000 per award Application Deadline: yearly on 1 March
