United for Business - Mile High United Way Skip to content United for Business United for Business Program Update Mile High United Way is transitioning our United for Business program as we focus on the most effective ways to support our community. United for Business was launched during the pandemic to meet an urgent need, as small business owners navigated unprecedented challenges.
Today, with the end of pandemic-era federal funding and a strong network of local organizations providing high-quality support for small businesses, we’ve made the decision to conclude the program. This transition allows us to invest more deeply in the areas where we can have the greatest impact, including programs like Tax Help Colorado, our 211 Help Center and Strategic Investment Grants.
We will continue to offer support and referrals to our United for Business clients through June 30, 2026. As we have for more than 138 years, Mile High United Way will continue to stand alongside families in our community, including small business owners and entrepreneurs, on their path to financial security and success. Need Small Business Support? View a compiled a list of trusted organizations offering small business accelerators, coaching, mentorship and workshops across our community. We work collaboratively with small business owners to first understand their needs.
Participants are then connected with skilled Mile High United Way volunteers that provide personalized and no-cost consulting in areas of accounting, marketing, legal support, and other business-critical functions to help owners reach their growth potential. We provide one-on-one business consulting services to local businesses and startups at no cost to them.
Mile High United Way volunteers help business owners in areas of accounting, marketing, legal support, and other business-critical functions. We develop pathways to capital, business networks, and skill development opportunities. We support capacity building and empower small businesses owners to achieve growth through an intensive skills-building program.
We promote economic security and mobility for individuals and families in Metro Denver by increasing access to quality employment and job training. Income inequality can be addressed by accessing quality, well-paying jobs as e ntrepreneurship is one of the best ways to build assets and wealth. When our local businesses thrive, entire neighborhoods also thrive.

Investing in Capacity Building for Local Business Owners This year, our United for Business team is launching new initiatives and events to support capacity building through intensive skills-development. Learn how we’re helping our small business community thrive! Primed Accelerator Program Launch a cohort accelerator program for 120 small businesses in Metro Denver.
Participants will be provided with mentorship and training in the areas of accounting, marketing, employee retention, financial planning, and more. Host a premiere small business summit for 150 small businesses, with workshops and discussions on development, growth, and economic mobility.
