Our Grantmaking | United Hospital Fund United Hospital Fund awards up to $500,000 annually in grants. Grants are primarily awarded to nonprofit health care service providers that participate directly with UHF in collaboratives or projects aligned with one of our three priority areas, Coverage and Access , Quality and Efficiency , and Clinical-Community Partnerships .
Grantmaking also aligns with the broader mission to build an effective and equitable health system for every New Yorker, with a special focus on grantmaking in and around New York City.
Grant purposes generally fall in one of three broad categories: (1) develop, implement, and evaluate innovative care models and tools with the potential for adoption by other providers, (2) conduct policy analysis of significant system issues that will shape the future of health care and community health, and (3) design, develop, and implement strategies to expand and broaden the reach of improvements in care quality and practice.
United Hospital Fund’s grant making is restricted to nonprofit or governmental organizations, and funds available annually for grants are often further restricted to health, behavioral health, and long-term care providers with a principal purpose of providing care on their premises. Grant award amounts vary, but typically range from $20,000 to $100,000. UHF is not accepting letters of intent or unsolicited proposals at this time.
