United for Good Nonprofit Resiliency Grant United Way of Central Maryland’s United for Good Nonprofit Resiliency Grant is an opportunity for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that support the basic needs of individuals and families in Central Maryland to receive grants ranging from $2,500 to $25,000.

Organizations who are facing urgent challenges, and who have total annual operating budgets of under $5,000,000, may apply for funding directly aligned with one of following priorities: Support for organizations facing funding cuts or delays, to sustain projects and/or operations, and prevent disruptions in crucial basic-needs services Funding to allow organizations to expand/accelerate assistance to meet rising critical needs in our communities Projects/strategies to increase organizational resiliency and sustain critical services through multi-organization collaboration, consolidation, or merger The application is now closed.

We strengthen families and communities by taking on systemic challenges and increasing access to basic needs – in health, housing, economic advancement, education, and more. The 2026 recipients of the United for Good Nonprofit Resiliency Grants are 28 local nonprofit organizations working on the front lines to meet critical basic needs across our communities.

Collectively, the organizations received a total of $500,000 to help strengthen and sustain their essential work.

The Neighborhood Grant is not available this year. Please consider our new United For Good Nonprofit Resiliency Grant funding opportunity. The 2025 Neighborhood Grant provides funds to organizations with total annual operating budgets of $500,000 or less.

Grants focus on community-centered projects that are: connect community members create impact in Central Maryland. 2024 Changemaker Challenge The United Way of Central Maryland Changemaker Challenge is a social innovation competition to highlight and award ideas in Central Maryland. Changemaker Challenge is not available this year.
