The funded programs must address one of four broad-based community impact areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.

How the Funding Process Works United Way of Central WV makes funding decisions through an annual competitive application process designed to support high-performing programs that align closely with its key impact areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.
Citizen Review Teams, made up of trained community volunteers and donors, review the Community Impact Grant Application, conduct site visits and make funding recommendations to United Way's Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for all final funding decisions.
Organizations that receive funding are held accountable for its responsible use and are required to submit mid-year and final reports that measure the impact of their services. If you received funding from January 01, 2025-June 30, 2025 please complete your Beneficiary and Outcomes Repor t by August 01, 2025.
